"Putting the Pieces Together for You" became my tagline in 1999 when I became a Realtor and realized that the average buyer or seller in our area has not been fully informed on what is involved with buying and selling real estate. I put the pieces together for buyers and sellers every day, as evidenced by the outstanding marketing I give my sellers, and the seminars I give for homebuyers every month in our area.
I was born and raised in Champaign, and have a background working in the legal field as a court clerk and a secretary to a real estate attorney, plus I was a member of the Champaign County Legal Secretaries´ Association for approximately four years. While working for the attorney, I learned what was involved in preparing real estate closings, trusts, wills, and real estate exchange documents. It was at that point I realized my interest was in real estate, and returned to Parkland College to get my real estate license. I then began working as a closing agent for Coldwell Banker Devonshire in 1998 preparing closings for approximately 45 agents in our office, being involved in hundreds of transactions over that three-year period.
Being a legal secretary for almost ten years has provided me with a wealth of experience that reflects in my real estate work. Plus, I have also been involved with real estate transactions from the lender´s and title company´s side by closing loans as an independent closer for three title companies in Champaign, on a back-up basis.
My background as a legal secretary, closing agent, and independent closer, have given me great insight as to what service to my clients really means, and given me insight to all different facets of the real estate industry.
Living all of my life in Champaign County lends itself to my knowledge of the community and surrounding areas, and is an asset to the people I work with. My goals to better educate myself reflect in my work, and by receiving the Quality Service Certificate (QSC) and the Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR) awards, I demonstrate how important that is to my business. My experience with client service assures that my clients always know what to expect next. I put the pieces together for them.
Aside from my career, I the mother of two wonderful children, Gered and Kelsi. I have been a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary for seventeen years, and served in many chairs and offices, including President for two years. In my "spare time," my hobbies include scrapbooking and reading.
I am also a member of the national, state, and local Association of Realtors, where I just served as the Professional Development Chairman. The Professional Development Chairman heads the Education, Designations and Risk Reduction, Equal Opportunity, and Special Projects Committees. And currently, I serve on the Governmental Affairs Committee.
Thank you for taking the time to get to know me, and I hope that you give me the opportunity to get to know you, and to assist you in all of your real estate endeavors!
